A community helping with eligible medical needs

Caring & Sharing describes a membership in which members make monthly contributions that are placed in a member escrow account and used to share eligible medical needs according to the current Membership Guidelines.

1

Members contribute monthly

Monthly contributions help make funds available for eligible medical needs submitted by other members.

2

Contributions enter escrow

Contributions are held in a member escrow account and administered according to the Membership Guidelines.

3

Eligible needs are processed

After review, eligible amounts may be transferred directly to the member's healthcare provider from the membership escrow account.

What the member experience can look like

The Caring & Sharing brochure presents the process as a sequence involving the member, provider, Caring & Sharing, and the membership escrow account.

1

Visit your provider

Members may use providers of their choice and can use the network information associated with the membership.

2

Show your virtual membership ID card

The card identifies the member and includes billing and submission instructions.

3

Confirm eligibility when appropriate

For non-emergency procedures, a provider may request an advance opinion of eligibility.

4

Provider submits the medical need

Medical needs are submitted to Caring & Sharing for processing under the Membership Guidelines.

5

Explanation of Sharing

The member and provider receive documentation explaining how the submitted need was processed.

6

Eligible funds may be transferred

Eligible amounts may be transferred to the provider from the membership escrow account.
